Lawn Bowls @ Avalon Bowlo - The 'Th'underdogs'

A lot of fun, a keen determination and a willingness to ' have a go ' sees the Avalon Beach Bowling Club often perform above expectations in inter club and zone bowling competitions.

The team's self effacing nickname is 'Th'underdogs' (pronounced: thunderdogs) ... picked up when Avalon arrived for a pennants match and the opposing team said "here come the underdogs". The players responded by taking on the name - and winning the match!

Men and women are welcomed for bowls and Members ages range from the 20's through to more senior numbers. If you want to have a try at bowling, give the club a call and we will organise a free introductory lesson to let you get a feel and prepare you for a social game.

Roll-ups (practice sessions) alone, with other players, or mates, can be done almost anytime during the week or weekend.

Social competitions are held every week: Wednesday; Thursday and Saturday (all comps are open to men and women) and Visitors from other clubs are welcome.

Neat attire, collared shirt and flat soled shoes are required. Members wear uniforms on all Saturdays except the last Saturday of the month.
